CJPR-NEACJS Policy Paper Award
The Northeastern Association of Criminal Justice Sciences (NEACJS) invites submissions for the Sage/Criminal Justice Policy Review (CJPR) co-sponsored award. The Sage/CJPR-NEACJS Policy Paper Award will be presented to a NEACJS member or members who authored or co-authored an original unpublished paper for the NEACJS Annual Meeting. The paper will be considered for publication in Criminal Justice Policy Review (CJPR).
The recipient will be required to present the selected paper at the Michael Israel Policy Panel at the 2023 Annual Meeting of the NEACJS that is scheduled for June 4 - 7, in Prince Edward Island, Canada.
CJPR and NEACJS will partner to provide the recipient(s) with a stipend of $500, and the awardee(s) will be recognized at the Annual NEACJS Meeting.
Complete manuscripts MUST be submitted electronically to Nathan E. Kruis at nek132@psu.edu by 12:00 noon (EST) on Saturday, April 5th. Please write “CJPR- NEACJS Policy Paper Award Submission” in the subject line of the e-mail.
Additional Award Criteria:
Lead author of the paper must have been a member of NEACJS for at least one full calendar year (April 2022) prior to the nomination and be a current member at the time the manuscript is submitted.
Papers must be focused on criminal justice policy. Papers that emphasize or address policy evaluation (e.g., evidence-based practices) or implementing criminal justice policy are encouraged. Papers with the greatest ability to achieve policy direction and/or connect research and scholarship to practice will be prioritized.
Only current members of NEACJS can nominate or submit papers.
It is the sole responsibility of the author (or co-author) to electronically submit the
paper by the established deadline.
No award will be given if nominated papers fail to meet the established criteria.
The awarded paper will be afforded an expedited review by the editorial staff of
CJPR for publication consideration. Author(s) will be responsible for simultaneously
submitting manuscripts through the official Manuscript Central website for CJPR.
All manuscripts submitted are eligible for publication consideration in CJPR. The
committee encourages the author(s) to consider feedback from the committee prior
to submission to Manuscript Central.
All papers should be formatted to the requirements of the Publication Manual of the
American Psychological Association, 2020, 7th (ed).
